The different types of COVID-19 tests
It’s important to understand your COVID-19 testing options should you need to get tested. Check out Anthem’s recent article called, The Different Types of COVID-19 Tests, to learn more about these testing options:
- Viral tests – Learn the pros and cons between molecular and antigen tests.
- At-home tests – Find at-home test options using our COVID-19 Test Site Finder. Collect your own sample and send it to the lab for analysis. Share the results with your doctor who can suggest an appropriate care plan.
- Combination tests – Doctors use a nasal or oral swab to test for influenza A, influenza B, and COVID-19 at the same time.
- Antibody tests – These blood tests may help determine if you’ve had a past infection with the virus that causes COVID-19.
